Save Our Schools March

We didn't miss the opportunity for change-it's right here, right now! This explores the possibilities for educational change being ignited by the Save Our Schools March (July 30th) and call for action. The missing voice from the dominant narrative in current educational "reform" is that of teachers. This will outline what the key demands are for the march and call for action, and discuss the role that the arts can play in provoking social change at this historical educational moment.

Teacher Mentoring In Nepal: Bringing Professional Development into a Poor Education System

The education system in Nepal is based on authoritarian teaching and rote-memorization, and its poor quality is reflected by a 48% national literacy rate! Schools have high numbers of students, low resources and lack creative outlets for students. With TARA Education, we lead workshops, trainings, side-by-side coaching and professional development for interested Nepali teachers. Our ultimate goal is to develop a network of forward-thinking, learner-centered schools where trained Nepali teachers can become teacher mentors themselves.

Youth Engagement in Social Justice & Democratic Education

The aim of our participatory action research (PAR) research is to expand and deepen youth-led discourse on and action in social justice and democratic educational change.
